CCNY - The Child Center of New York
CCNY MISSION STATEMENT:
Our mission is to help at risk children and youth succeed in life. The Youth Development Division helps to realize this mission by striving to form, nurture, and maintain positive, caring relationships with the children and youth we serve and all other stakeholders. All Youth Development programs employ an outcome-based approach to our daily efforts. Our programs' expected outcomes are as follows: Participants exhibit high level of attachment to host school; Participants will show an increased commitment to learning and connectedness to host school; Participants will show improved social competencies and ability to work in teams; and identified participants deemed at high-risk, will exhibit improved school behavior. Our programming offers participants opportunities for academic enrichment, homework help, literacy, STEM, the arts, health and recreation, civics and culture, leadership and more!
We continue to offer quality activities in the areas of literacy, the arts, technology, physical education, science, health, student-choice clubs, and Homework HELP. We will continue our asset-rich programming with a strong focus on providing students with the skills, strategies, and opportunities necessary for them to succeed in life. In addition to the program activities described above, your child will be provided a daily snack. Our program will be open Monday-Friday following the end of the regular school day. Dismissal is at 5:30pm every day. We will also be open on 13 school-closed holidays.
We have recently sent out the Summer interest letter, on Friday, March 16th, 2018. Please look for it in your child's folder or download here and return no later than March 29th, 2018. ccny_2018_summer_camp_interest_letter.pdf
